Notre-Dame Cathedral is located on the southeast end of Île de la Cité
at coordinates 48°51′11″N 2°20′59″E / 48.853°N 2.3498°E / 48.853; 2.3498

A devastating fire consumed the roof of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris and caused other damage, starting just before 18:50 CEST on April 15, 2019. The Cathedral was built in the center of Paris from 1160–1260 and is also the center of French culture and much of France's history.

Notre-Dame is one of the most photographed buildings in the world. Many photos and several videos of the fire were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.

We'll let the images tell the story.

Sashi, I didn't quite get the connection, but in any case we can't post fair use photos here. Thanks anyway. Smallbones(smalltalk) 21:03, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
