First-place User:Godot13 has been working very hard to document the history of paper money, including having cooperated with the Smithsonian Institution's National Numismatic Collection.

After an extremely close race, round three is over. 244 points secured a place in Round 4, which is comparable to previous years—321 was required in 2013, and 243 points in 2012. Pool C's Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions) was the round's highest scorer, mostly due to 32 featured pictures, including both scans and photographs. Also from Pool C, Scotland Casliber (submissions) finished second overall, claiming three featured articles, including the high-importance Grus (constellation). Third place was Pool B's Colorado Sturmvogel 66 (submissions), whose contributions included featured articles on the Russian battleships Poltava and Peresvet. Pool C saw the highest number of participants advance, with six of eight making it to the next round.

This year's first featured portal came in this round, with Republic of Rose Island Sven Manguard (submissions) taking Portal:Literature to featured status. The round also saw the first good topic points, thanks to Florida 12george1 (submissions) and the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season. This means that all content types have been claimed this year. Other contributions of note this round include a featured topic on Maya Angelou's autobiographies from Idaho Figureskatingfan (submissions), a good article on the noted Czech footballer Tomáš Rosický from Bartošovice v Orlických horách Cloudz679 (submissions) and a now-featured video game screenshot, freely released due to the efforts of Republic of Rose Island Sven Manguard (submissions).

Sixteen semi-finalists

This is, of course, only a bite-sized sample of each person's work, and in no case represents the whole contribution of the participants.

Runners-up

And, of course, just because they didn't pass to the current round doesn't mean they didn't make valued contributions to Wikipedia. Here's some of the work done by those who didn't pass.

Angelou FT

Hey guys, thanks for the mention. Angelou *only* wrote 7 autobiographies, not 9. I'm not sure how to edit it, so I bring it to your attention. Great edition of the Signpost! Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 20:29, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Impressive work BTW! --99of9 (talk) 02:22, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, there's nine articles in the topic, of course, and I forgot for a moment that two of them are overviews. I've only read the first three of her autobiographies, so... (memo to self: fix this: I loved the ones I read.) Adam Cuerden (talk) 08:41, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
